2015 Student Diary Art Competition

Year 7 Art Competition

Year 7s are invited to create a wonderful piece of A4 or A5 art for the front cover of our 2015 student diary.  We ask that your design incorporates the school values in some way.  It is also important that you consider a gender-neutral theme that is suitable for the entire syndicate.

Artwork is due by Monday 8th September.

The winning design will be chosen by the end of Week 8.

Rāpaki lays out the challenge

Check out our syndicate blog for footage from the House Tug of War last week.  Thanks Josh for filming the momentous occasion!

Search 4 Hurt

Each afternoon from 2:30-3pm Room 18 & 19 have been completing Search 4 Hurt activities (inspired by Search 4 Hurt on ESPN).  Last week, students were challenged to work in groups to complete an obstacle course, all while carrying buckets of water, heavy mats, a large roll of carpet and/or roadwork cones.  What will week 4 have in store for us?  Bring it on!

World Famous in New Zealand

WOW... what a brilliant first week back!

Mr P and I are so incredibly proud of how all of the students adapted to the new programme.  We are now joining our two classes for reading and Mathematics each day.  Grouping is flexible which allows us to cater for individual and group needs.

Mathematics

For the first 5 weeks of term, we are focusing on numeracy.  The new timetable is below.  Students did a great job working out where they needed to be and what they needed for each session.  Well done!

Mathletics

Our combined efforts on Mathletics means that we are 'World Famous in NZ' after just one week.
8th in New Zealand
39th in the world

Student Results

25 students achieved Bronze certificates for scoring greater than 1000 points on activities.

2 students (Declan & Angus) were awarded Silver certificates for achieving their 5th week of greater than 1000 points.  We are well on track for achieving Gold certificates by the end of 2014!
