Young Writers Workshop

A few weeks back, 3 talented writers from each Year 7/8 class were selected to attend a two-day Young Writers workshop at school.  The workshop focused on how to create an effective radio play.  They worked on character creation, writing dialogue, completing a story rather than letting it hang unfinished, caring for the audience's needs and creating sound effects.

This afternoon, the group went to Plains FM from 4-5:30pm, to record the radio play that they wrote in Week 1.

Over the next couple of weeks, Plains FM is going to work on adding sound effects and tidying things up.  In about two weeks, the play will be broadcast for all to hear.  It will be broadcast during school hours so that the whole school can tune in (likely after lunch) and then again at night (so families can listen together).

There will also be a podcast on the Plains FM website for us to download and enjoy forever!

The play is absolutely hilarious!  I particularly like the character named Mr Callaghan!

Stay tuned for the broadcasting date and time!
