‘If You Really Knew Me’ Task Sheet

 Background

“With knowledge comes understanding, and with understanding comes peace.”

From birth we start learning (if fact, some would argue that this begins in the womb).  Your family, friends and life experiences shape who you are and what you value in life. We all make mistakes, have secret fears, future aspirations and FEELINGS.   

This is your opportunity for you to share with the class what they would know about you ‘if they really knew you’.    

Think about:

• What is your favourite thing to do?
• What might we not necessarily know about you and your family?
• What are your fears?  
• What do you worry about?
• What are you future aspirations?
• How do you feel about moving into Year 8 or onto high school next year?
• What struggles do you have at school?  At home?
• What are you self-conscious about?
• What are your triggers?

Things to consider when presenting:

• An understanding of your audience
• 1-2 minute length of presentation
• Clear voice
• Eye contact
• Knowing your information
• A candid and genuine style of presentation

Due Date:

Presentation roster to be determined by your classroom teacher

This is a very busy term, so it is important that you are able to self manage your workload.  Some time will be given in class to complete the project, but you will also need to work at home to ensure that it is completed by the due date.

This project provides an opportunity for you to learn more about yourself and your classmates, and to express yourself orally and visually.  Make the most of this project - be reflective, honest and genuine; respect others thoughts and feelings. With knowledge comes understanding!
