No Time

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare? -

We have no time to walk the dog,
Or stand and stare at the misty fog:

Hours, minutes, seconds go by,
But still no sound from people whose battery dies:

We have no time to drive to the shops,
Or learn to do karate chops:

Still, we have no time to go to the courts,
And socialise at children's sport:

We have no time to go to visit the doc,
To get our yearly booster shot:

A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

People just stare,
With no utter care:

Throughout the night
Throughout the day:

No people who pas,
No people on the grass:

But still they stare,
With no utter care:

Always alone, just with a phone,
As still as a stone:

But still, they stare,
With no utter care.

Devious Device

What will life be without this devious device?

Why not frolic in nature's green pastures
And not become another of the computer masters.

Stop buying from that App Store,
Start studying the earth to it's core.

Be gregarious, play with your best buddy,
It doesn't matter if you get all muddy.

Stop being fake on social media,
And go outside or be an encyclopedia.

The new generation thinks it's normal to have a screen
Less they need to be seen.

No time to be industrious, stand side by side
To own an electronic is a ride

Technology is taking over us
No time to talk to the person next to us on the bus

Close your eyes and think for a moment,
Is this the life you want to live, staring at a screen?

You get up and feel dizzy,
Trying to make sense of it all.

Read a book,
Take your keys off the hook,

Put your phone down,
Take in all the sounds that surround you.

No time to explore,
Only to ignore:

The world around you,
There's further more:

Your mind is stuck in some dimension,
You never give anyone any attention:

No time to spend time with your kids,
Instead to go on Facebook and tell fibs.

You're always on Facebook telling fibs:

Your mind is lost, looking at the screen,
All you are actually doing is being mean.
