Poetry

Students read some of their fabulous poems to the class today.  Flynn, Louis, Cora, Monte and others, all worked really hard to incorporate some of our vocabulary words from the past few weeks.  As soon as their poems are typed and emailed to me, I'll publish on the blog.  Below are two such poems.  Enjoy!

Rage!
Fuelled by the warm moist air
Waiting for the time to strike
Patiently he scans the globe
For his enemy target

He strikes rapidly
Taking no prisoners
His hands reach in
Swallowing the once tranquil land

His rage gets lifted away
By the spirit inside
Retired he leaves
Left
Solitary
Empty
The village cries

Written by Lucia

Tempest
The war
The love
The fighting
The voices
The ‘what about me’
The ‘ask mum’
The ‘ask dad’
The ‘don’t shoot the messenger’
The ring
Their only connection
Sold on TradeMe
